A dashboard’s “View report” button on saved reports opened a fresh scan instead of the stored result, and the saved-report count crept up with every click. Several same-day reports showed identical scores.
A Saved Report Button Quietly Ran a New Scan Every Time
Field Note #327
⚡ Quick Fix (TL;DR)
The Culprit: The button linked to the live-scan page with the site address, not to the stored report by its ID. The live-scan page scans on load and saves a new record each time. The page that shows a stored report already existed; nothing pointed at it.
The Fix: Point the button at the stored-report page by ID and give "Re-scan" its own separate link. Check afterward that the total did not rise when opening reports, and that every row's link opens a real report.
