Before You Troubleshoot a Sitemap Submission, Check It Actually Exists

You try to submit a sitemap in Search Console, it fails, and the natural next move is to start troubleshooting the submission — retry it, check for formatting issues, assume something’s wrong with the search engine’s side of things. There’s a simpler explanation worth ruling out first: the file might genuinely not exist at that URL yet.
