You see other businesses running discount blasts, leaning on corporate buzzwords, or jumping on whatever trend is moving this week. The temptation is real: maybe I should be doing that too.
Here’s your reminder for today: don’t.
The most powerful brand signal you can send is being unmistakably yourself. People don’t buy from logos or templates. They buy from people they trust. When you try to sound like everyone else, your signal disappears into the noise. When you own your voice, it carries.
Three ways to signal authenticity today:
Read your website copy out loud. If it sounds like something you’d never actually say to a client, rewrite it. Write the way you talk to the people you love working with.
Show the hands behind the work. Share the real process, the story behind a product, or why you started this in the first place. Perfection is boring. Personality builds loyalty.
Stop trying to appeal to everyone. Clear, specific branding isn’t about pleasing the crowd — it’s about making the right people say “finally, someone who gets it.”
